Premium and payment
Astrae Premium is a single subscription. The current site shows € 2.99 per month. The subscription renews automatically each month. Payment runs through a RevenueCat checkout page; Stripe processes the payment behind RevenueCat. Astrae never handles card details itself.
You can buy without an account. In that case your browser generates a random guest number and stores it on your device. RevenueCat receives that number as part of the buyer ID. If you buy with an account, RevenueCat identifies you by your account ID.
After a payment, Astrae receives a notification from RevenueCat. That notification determines whether Premium access is active. The current code contains no trial period and no refund arrangement.
Using and managing Premium
RevenueCat provides a customer portal for subscription management. Access from Astrae for buyers without an account has not yet been established. The current Astrae route to subscription management requires a signed-in account, while a guest can buy. The cancellation route must be resolved and tested before this text can be used for buyers.
Data and external services
When you use Astrae, the following six external parties may receive or process data:
1. RevenueCat provides the checkout page and receives the buyer ID and whatever you enter on that page.
2. Stripe processes the payment behind RevenueCat. The Astrae code does not show exactly which data Stripe receives.
3. Anthropic receives, during an AI conversation, the calculated chart values, your question, earlier turns of that conversation, the language, and at most twelve memories you have approved. Journal text, your name and your birthplace are not sent.
4. Photon (Komoot) receives the birthplace you type, as a search query, via Astrae's server. Komoot therefore sees the server's IP address, not yours.
5. JPL Horizons (NASA) may receive a moment in time derived from your birth moment, without name, place or account ID. Previously retrieved answers are stored locally.
6. Expo processes push tokens for push notifications.
Astrae stores, among other things, account and subscription data, birth profiles, journal text, memories, moods, learning progress and push tokens in its data store. Your browser stores, among other things, access tokens, the guest number, chart data and preferences in localStorage. Further detail and retention periods belong in the privacy policy; retention periods have not yet been set.
Still to be filled in by Emanuel and a lawyer
- The contracting company, registration details, address and contact details.
- Right of withdrawal and any explicit consent for immediate delivery of a digital service. The current payment flow contains no established choice for this.
- Refunds, the consequence of cancelling mid-period, and the exact cancellation route for guests.
- Retention periods and what happens to data after cancellation or account deletion.
- Minimum age, applicable law and competent court.
- Liability and how astrological readings are qualified.
- The wording and price display for other markets: USD 3.99 and GBP 2.99 are set according to the project board, but a checkout from those markets has not been observed.
