Decans
Each sign in three, each part with its own ruler.
Ten degrees per part
Each thirty-degree sign divides into three decans of ten. A Sun at 24 degrees Gemini falls in the third decan.
Why it exists
The division is Egyptian in origin: thirty-six decans for thirty-six groups of stars rising through the year. The link to ruling planets came later.
A refinement, not a second chart
The decan says something within the sign, not beside it. Anyone who already knows the signs reads a nuance here; anyone who does not gains nothing.
